A boy who was Tommy Vercetti

“Wow”, exclaimed the former GTA Antagonist.

Update: I‘ll be posting YouTube videos very soon.

Prestige vs. Future Cash Flows

Prestige is thinking and competing in a crazy manner. Cash Flow is when you’re prepared for what’s about to come next.
Prestige: widespread respect and admiration felt for someone or something on the basis of a perception of their achievements or quality. — Google
and
Cash flow: The difference between the money flowing into your pocket as income and the money flowing out as expenses and debt. Cash flow may be either positive or negative. — Rich Dad

A boy who will soon rule Vice City

Tommy Vercetti, who was born into a very poor family with the dream of becoming rich, how will he get rich in a meaningful way? We’ll use following mental models to help answer our question:
  1. Geometric Progression
  2. Law of Diminishing Returns
  3. Newton’s Third Law
  4. Pareto’s Law or 80/20 rule
  5. Moore’s Law
  6. Availability-Misweighing Tendency
  7. Senescence Tendency
  8. Influence-from-mere-association Tendency
  9. Curiosity Tendency
  10. Liking/Loving Tendency
  11. Countering Man-with-hammer Tendency
  12. Cash Flow, Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Basic Algebra
That’s it.

The Story

“If Tommy Vercetti wanted to be rich”, I would ask myself, “How can he be not a douchebag like Sonny Forelli and Ken?”.

Being Opposite

Here’s the actual story of Tommy Vercetti by Wikia:
Early Life
Thomas Vercetti was born in Liberty City in 1951. His father worked in a printing shop and as a child Tommy used to clean the rollers with him. Tommy had planned to follow in his father’s footsteps, but, in his own words, “led a different life”. Dialogue spoken by Tommy while fighting indicates that he had a bad relationship with his mother.
Early 1970s
Some time prior to 1971, Tommy joined the Forelli Family. He continued to work with the Forelli Family, making his way up the ranks and presumably becoming a made man. In 1971, Sonny Forelli, growing apprehensive of Tommy’s increasing power, attempted to set up an ambush for him, under the guise of a hit in Harwood. However, Tommy not only survived, but killed all eleven men that were sent to kill him. He was arrested and convicted of eleven counts of murder. Tommy was sentenced to death for the murders, but, since he kept quiet and turned no evidence on the Forelli Family, Sonny Forelli used judicial connections to commute the sentence. Tommy remained in prison for fifteen years, refusing to divulge any Forelli Family secrets to the LCPD. He was nicknamed “the Harwood Butcher” by the press.
As you proceed, the reader
Get a cup of coffee, the reader
Open you eyes, the reader
And thy shall compare
For the new Vercetti, the reader
Must belong to higher ranks
Let your minds be prepared, the reader
Vice City will not be the one you’re used to

A Better Fortune

Thomas Vercetti was born in Liberty City in 1951. His father worked in a printing shop and as a child Tommy used to clean the rollers with him. Tommy was always inspired by his dad. He was a hard-worker and saved whatever money he received as daily or weekly wages and used 30% of savings to buy books. He was more interested in multiple disciplines. Tommy had some girlfriends. He would frequently hang out with his girlfriends. One day he met a rich girl who had shown appreciation for Tommy’s curious attitude. Tommy said he would be very interested if she hires him as her personal bodyguard. Tommy got the job and was happy. He used whatever he earned to study Maths, Science and Business. Tommy showed signs of a good person. One day, one of her hotels needed a manager. Tommy said he could take the job. The Rich girl readily agreed and gave her job for a manager, but as a test for 3 weeks. Tommy had a strong and charismatic personality. Tommy used his knowledge of business to boost her revenue by 10% in 3 weeks. The Rich girl was inspired. Tommy asked for more, luckily, was hired for HR. The rich girl developed a personal interest in Tommy. Tommy knew only she was the fat cow of all his friends who would give him milk for a long time to come. Tommy had his sights set on her international business. Tommy asked the Rich girl if he could move to Los Santos and manage her new hotel. As you might have guessed, she agreed but he will come back by 2 months. Tommy was now in Los Santos, making good money. Tommy bought some personal real estate and rented homes. His investments were paying off. Tommy bought a helicopter and apartment house in Los Santos. Two months later he came back to Vice City. This time Tommy had money, time and resources to build his own businesses. Tommy had it, the hotelling industry was old, he had vision for Clubs. He bought the Malibu Club, within 6 months, he was the owner of four franchises. Tommy had on total 30 investments. 80% of his revenue was generated by the first six properties than his other 24 investments. Tommy decided to sell 22 and leave the two because he needed a home and a margin of safety. Now Tommy had 8 highly profitable properties. Tommy quit the job. The Rich girl soon became envious of Tommy. She hired Sonny Forelli for killing Tommy Vercetti. The Rich girl called Tommy and told she had an offer for potential acquisition. Tommy thought about it, did his due diligence and decided to meet her at his apartment in the Ocean beach. Tommy was always prepared which meant he was armed. His men were ready. The Rich girl was not alone; she brought with her Sonny Farelli. She told Sonny was her Chief Operating Officer and they wanted to negotiate a deal with Tommy of few old properties that were running fine but they had no idea what to do with them. Now that Tommy was ambushed and attacked on all sides with eleven men, however, Tommy not only survived, but killed all eleven men that were sent to kill him. Tommy was arrested but soon after court filing, was released.
Meet the new new Tommy…
