Gold breaks record. But where are the deposits of Gold on the Internet, really?

Gold, now identified as Security due to Gold bonds, because of its purity, is still a commodity and an asset to the investors. Today gold mines are owned by a surprising number of private and public entities because it's incredibly competitive and risky business if not approached with due diligence.

Among the anti-banking communities present, one doesn't need to look further than Bitcoin because you're making a big attempt to kick off the system of banking. I cannot deny monopoly of banks, and the folly as witnessed by 2008 market crash and those stupid securities like subprime bonds etc. but that's not what we're going to rant about. Everyone talks about how banks ripped off millions of people, but we're not going to talk about that. My dad is a Pakistani, which means he barely has any credit card. He just uses a debit card! Voila, No headache.
While the cool kids these days think having a "Kids Savings" account is a good thing. Because of the supposed utility such securities provide, I am a bad spender and having a debit card would drain my savings that I, otherwise, could be using to avoid the banking statements declaring me bankrupt. I do have a "bank account" and it doesn't use cash entirely. Its composed 80% of the time with books. I use cash, but my little sister can be a bit of a risk. You cannot want "books" as you would want cash because of the exponential returns such boring artifact can produce.

Modern Investments
Suppose I'm in 2012 and I'm choosing between what to invest in. After some due diligence, I would spend a least amount of my money on Instagram. (Side note: Click and follow me @aaliyan2011 because I will never disturb you with my photos, granted.)

Reciprocation in Instagram
Instagram people have a lot of what I call "Reciprocative followers". When a famous Instagram personality follows you and you follow him/her back. When you see their Following(not Followers), it's almost, in most cases, 30K+. You are there projecting your life and the world is trying to "follow" you. Not only follow you, but like your posts. On twitter the like ratio is less that 0.01%. On Insta, it's more than 60%
Wait but Why?
I noticed that the moment I follow a new person and comment, 2 days later some 5 other people start following me. Of course, I was not attentive to numbers so I cannot say, "Yea, look at my followers".

Final thoughts
Instagram is not your normal Facebook technology. I like it based on the fact you totally control whatever you post. You don't have to "add" someone and that means you don't have to have links in every post, which reduces a lot of my headache. I think Instagram founders were brave enough to spot an opportunity and take advantage of it.

Know the principles and no matter which ground you're playing on, you can always create your own tactics and nearly dominate. I think Medium founders recognized principle and that is why they created that platform and with it, it's own type of tactics/metrics etc. I find Medium's Clap feature very gruesome. Besides I have no control over the look of my profile. To date, Read ratio has been more of a "distraction" than pointing some real insight. Is it me? or If it's too early to tell whether medium stole the blogger and advertisement business? I think medium cannot defeat blogger and other blogging platforms. Sure it's a new type of "blogging" that is purposefully without ads. That gives them a new ground to compete in. The B.S. about medium? I cannot join partnership program unless I live in United States or any of 25 Supported Countries. That was when I realized the competition problem with Medium and instantly switched to blogger. I think Medium should not be used by beginner bloggers like me. It's easy to be tricked and later find out you're content is not even read. I think removing Ads entirely is still not a helpful option. Of course it helps medium position itself as a dominant form of "non-advertisement based revenue generation" entity. For example Ads provide exposure to smaller bloggers like me and be part of the greater Advertisement community.
You cannot join partner program. Reason is Stripe because "Your country is currently not in our list of supported countries[we're stripe, after all?]. We'll notify you through email as soon as we start functioning."
B.S. Why do I have to wait for that miraculous email that will tell me, "finally you can earn less money than you could earn on blogger. Thanks for the patience".
