The Point
After
several years of viewing travel as an accessory for the rich, college
students and white-collar employees. Now the good news is everyone can
travel. Not because of some change but because anyone can travel anytime
anywhere in the world!, yes you heard it right because I’m going to
introduce you to the term “Mini-Retirements” coined by my long-time
mentor Tim Ferriss, the author of #1 NYT Best-selling book “4-Hour Workweek”
as well as 4-hour Chef, 4-Hour Body, Tools of Titans and now Tribe of
Mentors. This concept is that you ask yourself, a long-forgotten idea of
Vilfredo Pareto,
this question “What 20% of activities/inputs result in 80% of
outputs/results” as this question helps you to determine what is
important and Define your
income in terms of metric TDI that is Target Daily Income(Your Monthly
income divided by 30 or Target Monthly Income / 30 = TDI) and Eliminate the unimportant stuff by asking What 20% of Stuff results in 80% of stress? next you Automate your business or source of income finally you Liberate yourself
off of life that is your systems are automated and you can now
successfully negotiate to your boss and take a mini-retirement for 3
months, 6-months, 3 years depending on your circumstances. For more
details buy the book 4-Hour Workweek and there’s also this Library from which you can download the e-book of 4-Hour Workweek for free: https://is.muni.cz/el/1423/podzim2013/SOC932/um/43553173/FERRISS_Timothy_-_The_4-Hour_Workweek.pdf
Conclusion
With the advent of social and web 2.0 the good news being platforms like YouTube uniting masses through voices of its Creators.
Social Media has a lot of impact and influence over people. Nowadays
online, people raise money through Crowd-sourcing platforms such as Kickstarter and more.
Wikipedia has it:
Crowdsourcing is a sourcing model in which individuals or organizations obtain goods and services. These services include ideas and finances, from a large, relatively open and often rapidly-evolving group of internet users; it divides work between participants to achieve a cumulative result.
In
other words as Henk van Ess would say, “Crowdsourcing is channeling the
experts’ desire to solve a problem and then freely sharing the answer
with everyone.”
This
platform known as Change.org allows you to start your own petition and
be a voice for masses to solve mass ignored issues or simply raise your
voice for a social cause by just posting to there site which is here: https://www.change.org/start-a-petition
Scott Adams(twitter.com/ScottAdamsSays)
elaborates this is a “Golden Era” whence masses realized the openness
and free thinking which I interpret as now you can change the world by
being part of a social media cause and start your own petitions or
simply post a tweet if you’re someone like Kanye.
Thanks for listening. Talk to you soon.
