This is my room back in 2015, before joining Quora.
My Wardrobe
My Laptop and my Table
My Bed
My TV
My Kitchen, just right beside my TV.
When I discovered Quora, it was as if the floodgate of wisdom suddenly opened. So many intelligent people here and so many things to learn. Every day I found myself browsing Quora, learning new things. I started putting my brain to good use. I browse Facebook less frequently. I’ve been passionate about graphic design, so I decided to work towards improving my design skills.
Today, my situation have slightly improved, though not much, but definitely not as bad as it used to be, and I am improving every day.
This is my room presently. I took these pictures today. 03/05/2017.
…… and so on…….
Oh Seems so sad. His life sounds so stressful.
And now Here was my comment to his answer. There you go.
The reason you’re poor is because you waste your money over stuff such as “T.V.” whenever you get money. Nah, Learn to invest your money. Tai Lopez was worst than you, he was in a portable car and broke just having $17 in his bank account. But he started buying books and now he’s one of the most inspirational people on Earth.
Let me give an example
Lets say the new iPhone came out. Your holy grail moment. You waited 3 years for this, you saved money and now is the time. You buy an iPhone. IPhone costs $1000. On the other hand, You can spend same 50% the amount of money above and travel the world on your own terms. Now you travel say you buy a 50$ cheap camera($500 less $50 = $450). Now you start using your travels to influence other people. You record a vlog on areas that need attention. You become a voice. You’re now clearing path for people. Now you post about your travels on Quora, YouTube whatever you have. You get “Intelligent” people and they start implementing reforms. There new opportunities arrive. Now since you’re just focused on one area that is graphic Design. So you say to yourself, “I’m gonna be more than a Graphic Designer”. You visit Berlin, germany and learn to speak german in place of teaching english lessons. You get free schooling because of english. Now you start developing your Programming,. Coding and mathematics skills. Boom! you’re getting attention and now Colleges are offering you opportunity to come to them on low fees as a grant! Wow now 5 years later… You’re not similar anymore. That has certainly been my own story, although I haven’t graduated College but I got a grant from a Private High School that’s still valued here[Note: I Live in Pakistan]. I’m gonna keep crushing it. The point is please do not buy into popular advices of “improving your circumstances” within TWO years a lot can happen. Trust me getting stuff like T.V. and wardrobe no one is going to award you a Nobel Peace Prize for that or a World record. Consider My friend Tim Ferriss(Tim Ferriss (@tferriss) | Twitter). Using travel as a tool that guy holds TWO world records. Not only that he’s now named as Oprah Of Audio but that’s an underestimation. I don’t even have a light bulb in my room. NO TV, Oh I have one Sofa that is torn. But you know what I have me friends and family who are very kind to me. Although my dad is an electronics Engineer and he’s way more rich than I am. But I live in my dad’s home. But my room is just plain and simple. Its the environment where there’s ZERO distraction. I am able to focus 100% there. That’s why I even don’t have a light there. Get Mentors. Everyone needs support in his life. I cannot even imagine taking a tuition but guess what? I GOT A FREE TUITION FROM A FRIEND OF MY MOM WHO’S A PHD IN MATHEMATICS and helped me nearly for 3 months for free! My Mom cannot afford tuition. But this is the power of network. My parents built network. I now build network. My Network helps me whenever I need it. You should invest your money into meeting more and more people. you never know what interaction can change your life. Going through life like a sloth is no way to go about life. Less is More.
Trust
me on Internet you can exaggerate things. I can assure you in Pakistan
there are people who don’t even know the word “T.V.” or ”Internet”.
Please don’t buy into these stories.
Thanks for listening.
